Taj Mahal is the world famous heritage spot of India which is located in the banks of river Yamuna in UttarPradesh. It is also one among the well renowned wonders of the world. Taj Mahal was constructed by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan for his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal. This monument stands as a symbol of eternal love. The Taj Mahal was constructed during the Mughal period and nearly 20,000 people who were craftsmen, workers and architects were involved in constructing this masterpiece. It was built of white marble which is capable of reflecting the colors in the sky. Travelers from all over the world visit Taj Mahal during the months of October to December and many people love to see the beauty of it on a full moon day which will be fantastic to watch.
The gateway of Taj Mahal leads to a path with lawn on both sides and a water fountain in the center. On a raised platform stands this majestic monument which is surrounded by four minarets in four corners of the platform. The dome is almost 60meters high from the platform. Many precious stones such as sapphire, turquoise, etc are studded in the white marble which gives an enchanting appearance. Millions of tourists from various countries across the globe visit this monument every year, which is one among the new Seven Wonders of the World.
The Pyramids of Giza are familiarly known to be the tomb of Egyptian pharaohs. They are one among the heritage sites recognized by the UNESCO and they still remain as one of the seven ancient wonders of the world. The pyramids of Giza have three main pyramids and a group of several other smaller pyramids. The three main pyramids include the pyramid of Khufu, the pyramid of Khafra and the pyramid of Menkaure. All three pyramids reveal the architectural skills of the ancient Egyptians. These pyramids were constructed by the local men of Giza village who were buried in the cemetery near the pyramids. The pyramid of Menkaure is comparatively smaller than the other two pyramids. Another tourist attraction here is the Solarboat museum that is located below the pyramid of Khufu. This museum is air conditioned as it preserves the boat which was used for carrying the pharaoh for his burial.
The world famous Great Sphinx of Giza is also visited by people all over the world. This sculpture resembles the face of half human and half lion. Camel ride is offered by the villagers to travel around the pyramids and the best time to visit the pyramids will be during sunrise. Travelers from all across the globe are found to visit Giza and enjoy the beauty of Egyptian pyramids.
The world famous Pisa tower otherwise called as the Campanile or the Bell tower is one among the heritage spots declared by the UNESCO. The Pisa tower is located in Italy and it draws the attention of millions of tourists every year due to its peculiar leaning characteristic and also due to its marvelous architectural design. The Cathedral complex or otherwise called the Campo dei Miracoli collectively consists of four buildings namely the Cathedral or Duomo di Pisa, Baptistery, Cemetery and the Pisa tower. The name of the architect who constructed this elegant Pisa tower is still unknown and it took around 200 long years to complete its construction due to the onset of several wars.
As the construction was going on, the tower started to lean and in 1990, it was found that the tower was leaning at an angle of 10 degrees. The Pisa tower has 8 floors and you can reach the top of this tower by climbing 297 steps. Each storey has exquisitely designed marble arches and in the top floor is the well renowned bell chamber. Several attempts are being taken to prevent the further leaning of Pisa tower by many architects all over the world. Anyone who visits this Pisa tower will be amazed looking at its architectural splendor.
The Great wall is a majestic ancient wonder which is visited by all the tourists who make a trip to China. This Great wall was constructed approximately 2000 years ago by the first Chinese ruler Qin Shi Huang also called as Shi Huang Ti. This majestic structure has a length of 2272miles. Several experienced men were involved in the construction of the Great wall and it took around more than one decade for its completion. They adopted different strategies in constructing this massive structure.
Mainly bricks and granite were used for its construction. The main motive behind the construction of the Great wall was to prevent the intruders from entering China. At present the Great wall is divided into nine zones, each of which is managed by a particular military in charge. There are several sections from which the travelers can view this Great wall. The most famous section for tourism is the Badaling Great wall visited by many tourists around the world. Other sections include several passes such as Huangyaguan pass, ShanHaiguan pass, etc. It is recommendable that any person who visits Beijing shouldn’t miss the opportunity of visiting this historic ancient wonder and relish this heritage site of UNESCO.
