Mecca and Medina are the two most famous spiritual places of Islamism, which is situated in Saudi Arabia. According to the holy Quran, it is a must for every Muslim who has enough wealth to visit Mecca, at least once during the entire lifetime. Muslims from all over the world, visit Mecca every year, especially during the period of Hajj. The Masjid Al Haram is the mosque where people gather and make prayers which is a part of Hajj. Besides praying, people walk between Safa and Marwaah and also touch the black stone and the Kabbah inside the mosque. The Kabbah is a cubical structure which has a black stone, which is believed to be fallen from the heaven. The people face towards this structure and involve themselves in chanting prayers.
Initially the mosque was not spacious and in the later period, the mosque was reconstructed and extended, which is now capable of accommodating 900,000 people to a crore people. The holy water from the well named Zamzam is believed to cure all illness. Other than the mosque in Mecca, the Masjid al Nabawi mosque located in Medina is also visited by people. The old bazaar, Mount Uhud and the mosque of Badr are also some of the places in Medina visited by the pilgrims as a part of their spiritual travel. The spiritual trip to Mecca and Medina is believed to wash away the sins and the pilgrims experience spiritual fulfillment in their hearts.
Ephesus is an ancient city that is located in Turkey, which is a famous Biblical place. Ephesus has numerous religious spots that make a number of Christians from various countries to visit this ancient city all through the year. The Basilica of St.John is a renowned spot and the church was constructed over the grave yard of St.John. The cave of seven sleepers is a miraculous place where seven young men were believed to fell asleep in the early 250 AD and then they woke up suddenly in the 5th century. Later this place became cemetery.
The church of Mary in this city is probably the first church constructed for mother Mary. The Ephesus museum has many ancient artifacts and artistic sculptures of historic value. Many Catholics visit the House of virgin where mother Mary spent last days of her life. The Temple of Artemis, one among the seven wonders of ancient period is also of tourist interest. Another famous biblical place is the Theater where the Saint Paul preached his sermon to all of his followers. The seats can still be witnessed in this place and is used even now. The Library of Celsus, the Temple of Hadrian, the Isabey mosque, the Prytaneion is some of the other historical and religious places, which attract the attention of tourists all around the globe.
